AI access from Iran

None of the three large makers recorded so far in this data infrastructure (Anthropic, OpenAI and Google) list Iran among their supported countries, and we read that result from their own official documentation, not a guess. So this list is empty today, and the emptiness is itself the operational answer.

  • a documented source per claim
  • no account sales
  • check date recorded

Why this list is empty

The membership rule on this page is exact: a tool whose access from Iran is marked open or partial. That marking carries a precondition: we must be able to show the source. So far, all three makers recorded in this reference leave Iran off their own supported-countries lists, so none of them satisfies the membership rule, and the list stays empty.

We could have listed ten names here under a line reading "works with the right configuration." Many pages do exactly that, which is precisely why they carry no value. An empty list that documents the reason for its emptiness is more usable than a full list with no source.

What we know, with a source we can point to

Anthropic publishes two separate country lists, one for the API and one for claude.ai, and Iran is on neither. OpenAI states on its supported-countries page that access from outside that list can lead to an account being closed or suspended, and Iran is not on that list. Google lists the active regions for the Gemini API and AI Studio, Iran is not among them, and it directs users outside the list to Google Cloud. Links to all three sources sit at the bottom of this page.

Out of scope for this page

We do not sell accounts, we take no commission from any intermediary, and we do not document circumvention methods. That decision is both ethical and operational: an account opened by circumventing a restriction can be closed, and the amount paid for it is not refunded. Any guarantee otherwise is a guarantee paid for at your expense.

One section here has been corrected. The earlier version stated that we would not name intermediaries, and in practice that sentence sent readers empty-handed to the very pages that document neither a risk nor a source. We now document the routes that openly exist, along with the hidden cost of each, with no referral link and no commission. The full list of these routes sits on the AI account provisioning page.

The next stage of this data pipeline

What this infrastructure still lacks is independent network instrumentation: running a connection from an Iranian vantage point and recording which domains respond and which do not. Until that stage is implemented, the access column in this reference rests solely on the makers own stated policy, and that limitation is stated explicitly on the page. Once that measurement is carried out, its execution date will print on every page.

Room for improvement and technical considerations

  • The access column today rests on the makers own stated policy, not on direct network measurement by us.
  • The member list is empty because no tool has yet been verified with an "open from Iran" status.
  • This area changes fast; check each page check date, not only its text.
  • We document nothing about local intermediary services, because we have tested none of them ourselves.

Technical verdict

The most honest answer we have today: there is no official route to the three large makers, and we will not propose an unofficial one. If your operation depends on AI, our recommendation is not to concentrate that dependency on a single tool.

Frequently raised questions, with documented answers

Which AI works in Iran

Of the three makers recorded in this reference so far, none list Iran among their supported countries. Any tool that is verified will be added here with its date and documented source.

Can you buy an AI subscription from Iran

An Iranian card does not work with these three makers. We do not sell accounts and take no commission, but the intermediary routes that genuinely exist are documented with their risks on the AI account provisioning page. The point usually overlooked: an account opened outside the supported-countries list can be suspended and the amount is not refunded.
