Roblox is the closest thing to a real metaverse that millions use every day: worlds built by users and traded with Robux. Child safety is a serious area for improvement, and several countries in the region have blocked it.

What Roblox actually is
Roblox launched in 2006 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021. Users build games and worlds in Roblox Studio and trade with the virtual currency Robux.
What you pay and what you get
Entry is free and Robux is bought with real money. Creators can convert Robux to cash through DevEx.
Where it is strong
Content depth and presence on every device have made it the largest virtual world.
How it can improve, and what we could not verify
Türkiye blocked it in 2024 and Qatar and Iraq in 2025 over child safety, and chat was restricted in others. Access and purchases from Iran are not dependable because of sanctions and filtering.
