What Maktabkhooneh actually is
Maktabkhooneh is one of Iran's oldest online learning platforms, running since 2011. Courses are mostly video-based, and since 2016 a discussion forum has let students ask instructors questions directly.
What you pay and what you get
Courses range from free to paid, with the price shown before purchase. A key point: under Iran's e-commerce law, virtual goods and services usable immediately after purchase are not covered by the physical-goods right of withdrawal, so refunds after a course has been accessed are typically limited.
Where it is strong
Content becomes available immediately after purchase, and users can move at their own pace. Some courses carry a certificate co-issued with Sharif University, which adds weight to a resume. A rival such as Faradars follows a similar model, with more focus on technical and engineering topics.
How it can improve, and what we could not verify
Because different instructors build each course, teaching quality is not uniform, so checking course reviews before buying matters. Maktabkhooneh has not published official figures on course completion rates or average instructor response time in its forums, so those could not be confirmed for this review.
